In the very beginning of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Stormtroopers, under the leadership of the militant, Kylo Ren, invade the planet Jakku. Ren kills Lor San Tekka, a resistance ally who refuses to betray his people. Kylo Ren then orders the Stormtroopers to execute all villagers.  An interesting side note about Stormtroopers – the term Stormtrooper actually refers to Imperial German soldiers from World War I, and is also possibly a derivative of the word Sturmabteilung (“Storm Detachment”), which was a military organization of the German Nazi Party, which helped Hitler rise to power. My family and I are refugees. We moved to the United States to escape violence related to being Jewish. With the recent rise of Anti-Semitism, I was already feeling threatened. Last Saturday, an angry man with a gun claimed 11 lives of innocent elderly human beings, one of whom, Rose Mallinger, was a 97-year old Holocaust survivor.
